Dr. Bartley is originally from Jamaica and hails from NYC. She attended Medical School at the Caribbean Medical University, Curacao and credits her rural Jamaican and urban NYC experiences for her medical and personal interests.

She loves Family Medicine and has a keen interest in preventive medicine/care and nutrition.

Dr. Bartley enjoys activities that allow her to recharge and reset. This includes hiking, traveling, and working out at the local gym. She likes traveling and exploring various places and cultures because they all have an influence on her culinary skills and life perspective.

“From a medical standpoint, besides Family Medicine, I am interested in preventive medicine and nutrition. It gives me the opportunity to utilize my education and skills to inform patients about their diet and health before an onset of a serious problem because many illnesses are preventable.”

Dr. Parikh was born and raised in Ahmedabad, India, and she completed her medical education from Smt. NHL Municipal Medical College, Gujarat University, India.

Her medical interests include preventive medicine and women’s health.

In her free time, she enjoys taking road trips, kayaking, hiking, and playing competitive board/card games with her family. She enjoys cooking and loves to explore new cultures and cuisines.

“I have come to value the irreplaceable role of primary prevention in the medical management of chronic illnesses. I have also observed a general lack of research and inclusion of females in medicine and wish to establish a practice that advocates for women and their health.”

Aneri Patel, M.D.

Dr. Patel was born and raised in Ahmedabad, India. She earned a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from GCS Medical College, India.

Her medical interests include Women’s Health (OB), Emergency Medicine, and Primary Care.

During her free time Dr. Patel likes to travel and explore new places, paint, work out, and spend time with family and friends.

“Being accepted into the Mississippi Delta Family Medicine Residency Program makes me feel really fortunate. I chose the program due to its excellent team dynamics and the faculty’s familiarity with the community’s needs and their commitment to patient care. I am looking forward to establishing connections with the local community and continuing to grow as a physician.

Lauren Stevens, D.O.

Home - St. Louis, MO

Dr. Stevens was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. She obtained her undergraduate degree from Truman State University in Kirksville, Missouri and then her Master of Biomedical Sciences degree and subsequently her medical degree from William Carey University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Hattiesburg, Mississippi.

Her medical interests include inpatient medicine, rural primary care, and the integration of osteopathic manipulative medicine (OMM).

During her free time, she enjoys powerlifting, playing violin, traveling, and baking.

It is evident that the faculty and fellow residents share the same passion for community outreach and working with their patients to tailor individualized healthcare plans. I am beyond blessed to have the opportunity to serve the Delta community and looking forward to empowering my patients and approaching their healthcare as a team.”

Sana Yaklur, M.D.

Medical School - Trinity School of Medicine, St. Vincent and the Grenadines
Home - Cerritos, CA

Dr. Yaklur was born and raised in the suburbs of Cerritos, CA. She graduated from the Trinity School of Medicine in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and did her clinic rotations in Baltimore, MD. Dr. Yaklur has been interested in medicine beginning at a young age.

Her medical interests include geriatrics, rural medicine, and preventative medicine. She wants to provide medical care to patients and communities who have not had access to it and foster strong and trusting patient-physician relationships that empower the patient.

In her free time, she enjoys reading, painting, sketching, listening to music, and watching animated shows.

“I am excited to train at MSMERC! I love the program’s focus on community health and its commitment to holistic patient care. I was also drawn to the program because of the warmth and friendliness of the faculty and staff. I look forward to becoming a part of this wonderful community.”
