With 47 employees, Delta Regional Medical Center’s Ambulance Service quickly responds to patients in need. Along with the five advanced life support-capable ambulances that are in service 24 hours a day, the department also coordinates with helicopter service for patients who require treatment that is more advanced.
Ambulance Services constantly strives to improve and recently acquired two new ambulances and employees three critical-care paramedics. Another new technology is the Strike Eagle Global Positioning System which allows dispatchers to see where ambulances are at all times so the closest available vehicle is sent.
