Dr. Ben P. Folk, III

Dr. Ben Folk began his medical training at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine where he obtained his Medical Degree. He served his Fellowship in Cardiology at Vanderbilt University Hospital, Nashville, TN.

Dr. Folk had a vision for healthcare in the Delta. The need he saw in cardiac patients led him to Greenville. It all started with his solo cardiology practice opened in 1986 which was located on Hospital Street at the time.

Dr. Folk’s vision was large in scope. He knew a single cardiology practice was not enough to meet the needs of the patients he served. Dr. Folk envisioned a full team of cardiovascular specialists and hospital facilities sophisiticated enough to handle the unique medical needs of Delta residents. Dr. Folk has seen the fulfillment of his vision. “DRMC has made the investments needed in cardiac healthcare to make it a true world class facility,” says Folk. Speaking of his own facility, The Greenville Clinic, Folk says, “our own team of healthcare providers has been thoroughly trained to test, diagnose and help heal the hearts of our Delta friends.”

Dr. Folk’s passion for his work is evident in the number of his dedicated patients and staff members who work with him daily. His patients speak of his gentle nature and soothing bedside manner. The “Father of Cardiology” in Greenville chose the Port City to practice medicine and call home out of a true calling to practice medicine in an area desparate for cardiac care.

Dr. Folk lives with his wife Julia in Greenville. They are active in St. James Episcopal Church, and enjoy spending time with their three boys.
