Thompson Named Chief of Staff

Greenville, MS – Dr. Allen H. “Buddy” Thompson, Internist and Partner in the Greenville Clinic, has been named Delta Regional Medical Center’s chief of staff, effective October 1st.  Dr. Thompson as chief of staff will serve as the Chief Medical Officer and principal official of the staff. 

Mr. Ray Humphreys, CEO of Delta Regional Medical Center, says, “As we strive for new levels of excellence and performance, Dr. Thompson’s experience and understanding of our organization are greatly suited to the varied and complex tasks at hand. I look forward to working with him.”

“I am looking forward to the coming year,” Thompson said. “If 2009 is an indication of what is to come, 2010 should be an exciting one indeed.  Discussions about healthcare have become quite commonplace and for good reason.  We face a number of challenges, and there remains a great deal of uncertainty about where we are headed.  The doctors, nurses and all employees of DRMC are committed to providing the best care available, and with the leadership of our Administration and Board we will continue to do our best to meet our patients’ needs.”

Thompson, a Greenville native, attained his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Delta State University in Cleveland.  He attained his Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson.  Thompson completed his internship and residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson VA Hospital.
