Delta Regional Medical Center Announces Clinical Nurse Educator and Director of the NICU

Greenville, MS – Delta Regional Medical Center (DRMC) announces the appointment of Tracy Killebrew, RN, MSN as Clinical Nurse Educator and Director of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).  Killebrew received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN and a Master of Science in Nursing from Vanderbilt University, Nashville, TN.  Killebrew began in nursing at Methodist Le Bonheur in Memphis, where she worked for 13 ½ years in the Special Care Nursery, working with Level II and Level III NICU babies. Killebrew then began her career with DRMC in February 2007 and served as the Director of Maternal Child Center/Pediatrics/NICU until May 2008.  From May 2008 to March 2010, Killebrew served as Director of Maternal Child Center, when she became the Clinical Nurse Educator and continues her role as Director of the NICU.

Donna Pinion, RN, CFNP Director of Education at DRMC says, “I am excited to have Tracy.  She brings both education and clinical experience to this position, as she continues to serve as the NICU director.”

Killebrew says, “I’m very excited to see the opening of the NICU arrive after three years of construction, planning, collaboration, and education for the hospital staff and the community. I went into the profession of nursing to make a difference in others’ lives and being involved in a service such as Neonatal Intensive Care in such a deserving area will definitely afford me that opportunity. For me the best part of having this service here is that families can now stay in Greenville when their baby is born prematurely or critically ill and not have to be separated from them. No one wants to be that far away from their sick baby! I am impressed with the level of experience and expertise that the nurses and physician now working at Delta Regional’s NICU have- if you calculated all the years of experience it would be over 50!”

Killebrew and her husband, Chad Killebrew, from Greenwood, have one son, Ty, who will be two in September.  They live in Leland.
