Health Tips
Preventing Cancer
Tips from the American Cancer Society
Studies show that about half of cancer deaths can be prevented by:
• Not using tobacco products
• Maintaining a healthy weight
• Getting plenty of physical activity
• Eating healthy foods
• Avoiding the midday sun and protecting skin with a hat, shirt, and sunscreen
• Contacting your doctor to schedule your regular cancer screening tests
Treatment is most successful when cancer is detected early.
