Home Health Quality Award
Delta Regional Medical Center Home Health Agency has been recognized with a Home Health Outstanding Quality Award at a recent Information and Quality Healthcare (IQH) awards program in Jackson. Displaying the plaque are the staff of DRMC Home Health, DRMC Home Health Agency has been an active participant in the quality program conducted by IQH, the Mississippi Medicare quality improvement organization, taking part in projects designed to continuously improve the quality of care for Medicare beneficiaries. IQH president Dr. James S. McIIwain pointed out in presenting the award that the staff was honored for dedication and commitment to quality reflected by documented improvement in Ambulation and Locomotion. Staff from home health agencies, hospitals, nursing home, and physician offices from throughout the state gathered for the awards event. IQH as the federally designated quality improvement organization for Medicare in the state works under contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to improve the quality of care for Medicare recipients. Delta Regional Medical Center Home Health Agency has also been successful in reducing the acute care hospitalization rate of its patients over the last 17 months from a rate of 35.2% to a rate of 26.8%.
