Delta Regional Medical Center Partners with Delta Cotton Belles

Greenville, MS – Delta Regional Medical Center is proud to announce its partnership with the Delta Cotton Belles.  The Delta Cotton Belles began raising funds in 2008 for the prevention of breast cancer in the Mississippi Delta.  After two successful fundraisers, they are reaching one of their main goals--mammogram funding.  Recently, funds have been allocated from the Delta Cotton Belles to provide a limited number of mammograms for the working uninsured.  To insure the Delta Cotton Belles funding is helping as many women as possible, Delta Regional Medical Center is offering digital mammograms at a discounted rate to the non-profit organization.

“One reason that the Mississippi Delta has a higher rate of Stage 3 and Stage 4 breast cancer, later stages of cancer that are more difficult to treat and have a higher mortality rates, is due to the lack of routine medical testing,” says Iris Stacker, Delta Cotton Belle Mammogram Clinical Coordinator.  “The Delta Cotton Belles want to make sure more women are getting mammograms.  Having mammograms on a regular basis will reduce the rate of Stage 3 and Stage 4 breast cancer.”

To take advantage of the free digital mammogram at Delta Regional Medical Center you must fill out the Delta Cotton Belles Mammogram Application Form, have a physician’s order, and proof of employment (such as a recent paycheck stub).  To receive a Delta Cotton Belles Mammogram Application Form contact your local physician or the Good Samaritan Health Center in Greenville.
