Community attends Delta Regional Host Home Health & Hospice Open House
Local hospital provided community with healthcare information and free health screens
Greenville, MS – Delta Regional Medical Center (DRMC) hosted a Home Health & Hospice Open House and Health Fair at DRMC’s West Campus on Thursday, April 24, 2008 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Over 75 people came to the event. The Open House and Health Fair provided educational and informational materials on home health and hospice care, free blood sugar and cholesterol screens, and telemonitoring demonstrations including blood pressure, pulse rate, blood oxygen level and weight.
According to Sandy Solomon, DRMC Home Health & Hospice director, “The Home Health & Hospice Open House and Health Fair was a resource for families who have loved ones that require specialized care. Families had the opportunity to learn more about the services we provide, giving them peace of mind should they need these services in the future.”
DRMC’s Home Health & Hospice programs serve patients and families in Washington, Bolivar, Sunflower, Sharkey, and Issaquena counties. The Home Health program provides Skilled Nursing, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Social Services, and Dietary Consultation, as well as Personal Care Services. DRMC’s Hospice program provides care and support for terminally ill patients and their families. Services provided by the Delta Regional Hospice team include Skilled Nursing Services, Personal Care Services, Social Services, Therapy Services, Spiritual Services, Volunteer Services, Bereavement Services, Medical Services, Pharmacy Services and On-Call Assistance.
According to Florence Jones, RN, MSN, DRMC West Campus chief administrative officer, “Delta Regional Medical Center is proud to offer the families in our neighboring counties quality long and short term healthcare through our Home Health and Hospice programs. While the decisions involved in home health and hospice care are not easy to make, we take pride in the quality programs we provide that are personal and close to home. ”
Aside from Home Health and Hospice, DRMC’s West Campus services also include: Gastrointestinal Lab, Solutions Behavioral Health, Inpatient Rehabilitation, Outpatient Radiology Services including X-Ray and Mammography, as well as The Sleep Center.
