Community Focus
At Delta Regional we understand that to become Mississippi's next great hospital, we must also be the leader in disease prevention and health maintenance. We are constantly striving to provide programs and services to our community that can help the people we serve maintain and improve the quality of their health.
Our Leadership Team constantly reviews the most up-to-date statistics about diseases that affect the people of the Mississippi Delta, and through collaborative efforts we develop new services to fit the needs of the area. By establishing clinics and services in the areas of most need, we help to make health care more accessible while establishing our hospital as your central resource for health information and services in the Delta.
As Washington County's top contributor to the United Way, our employees donate over $70,000 per year to local United Way agencies. In fact, two of the 16 current United Way Agencies were created through needs identified by a collaboration of DRMC team members. DRMC's Medication Assistance Program (MAP) and the Good Samaritan Health Center address health care issues of the uninsured. The mission of the Medication Assistance Program is to promote the health of Washington County residents by assisting needy individuals in obtaining prescription medications. The Good Samaritan Clinic was initiated in October 2006 by a consortium of DRMC employees, local church leaders, and concerned citizens to provide primary health care for the uninsured.
