Message from the CEO
It is a pleasure to welcome you to Delta Regional Medical Center’s (DRMC) website, and we offer this electronic “window” as an invitation to learn more of our unique facility located in the fertile Mississippi Delta region. The King’s Daughters Hospital was erected in its current location on Washington Avenue, the gateway to Downtown Greenville, in 1927, while many years later, the Washington County General Hospital was built in 1953. In 2005, Delta Regional Medical Center, originally known as Washington County General Hospital, merged with The King’s Daughters Hospital to create our current 325 bed healthcare system.
More than simply the bricks and mortar used to construct our current facilities, our hospital has helped shape the lives of many generations of residents in Washington County and the surrounding counties. Throughout the years, the hospitals have been the birth place of over 80,000 people. It has been the safety net for over 35,000 people who annually visit our Emergency Department. It has been the enabler for many people who, due to illness or injury, have received modern therapeutic interventions that have restored a normal life style. Delta Regional’s rich legacy of two hospitals combined to serve one common mission makes what we do and how we do it a vital community interest.
Each day over 1,200 employees, 100 physicians and hundreds of community volunteers do their best to provide our community with peace of mind. As each day starts for over 142,229 people in our seven county service area, DRMC is positioned to handle emergencies by responding with our ambulance service, providing Level III Emergency Trauma service, delivering care in both inpatient and outpatient settings and providing treatment through Home Health and Hospice, outpatient physical therapy, surgery, physician clinics and many other levels of service.
DRMC is truly a comprehensive medically integrated health care delivery system with the singular purpose of serving our community.
I am proud to be a part of Delta Regional Medical Center and am delighted that you have taken a peek through our electronic “window."
